My family typically enjoys steak every Sunday, it’s become somewhat of a tradition in our home. This recipe for Jerk Flank Steak has served me well many times and is always a huge hit with my loved ones. It makes a ton of steak, so it’s perfect for large families, dinner parties, and meal prep.
Over the years, flank steak has developed a nasty reputation of being tough. If it isn’t cooked properly, this can be true, but that’s certainly not the case here! With this recipe, I’m going to show you that flank steak can be mouthwateringly tender when cooked the right way. And the best part is that it takes under 10 minutes!
Prep Time 10 minutes
Course Main Course

  • 2 lb. flank steak
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp jerk seasoning (I use the McCormick brand)
  • ½ tbsp paprika

  • Wash your flank steak and pat dry with a paper towel, then wrap it in plastic wrap and tenderize using a meat tenderizer.
  • Rub the olive oil into the steak and add your spices evenly all over.
  • Slice the flank steak into thin strips of your desired size, then transfer the sliced steak onto a cooling rack, and place the cooling rack onto a baking tray to catch the drippings.
  • Place the baking sheet on the top rack of your oven and broil for 6 minutes for medium well or 8 minutes for well done. Garnish with fresh parsley or green onions for a pop of color and enjoy!
  • Note: Slicing the flank steak prior to cooking and broiling it helps to cook the steak faster and omits the need to flip the steak during the cooking process. This also eliminates the need to wait for the steak to rest before slicing.

Serving, Storage, and Substitution Tips
● You can serve this delicious flank steak with just about anything, but these are some of my favorite side dishes to pair it with: rice, roasted potatoes, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables, and green salads.
● If you’d prefer to grill your flank steak, season as usual and grill it for 4-6 minutes on each side, depending on your cooking preference.
● If you want to switch it up with different flavors, feel free to use your favorite spice blend or marinade instead of the jerk seasoning. It can still be cooked the same way! I make this steak recipe every week, so I tend to mix it up with different flavors to keep it interesting.
● To store leftovers, transfer the steak to an airtight bag and keep it in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or in the freezer for up to 2-3 months.
