With just a few spices, oil, and lemon juice, you get salmon that is incredibly flavorful and a dish that requires very little cleanup. Pair it with rice and your favorite green vegetable, you can’t go wrong!

What You’ll Need To make this Fool-Proof Baked Salmon
You will need salmon filets, olive oil, lemon juice, and the following spices: turmeric, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and fresh or dried thyme. This easy recipe is one of my go-to weeknight meals because it hardly requires any kitchen tools. The only items you will need are a small bowl, aluminum foil, and a baking tray. The whole recipe comes together from start to finish in under 30 minutes, making it the perfect quick and easy meal.

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for grilling and frying or oil of your choice.
  • ½ tsp salt adjust to your taste
  • 2-3 sprigs of thyme or 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme.
  • Juice of 1 small lemon


  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Wash your salmon filets and pat dry with a paper towel.
  • Place the filets on a piece of foil, leaving extra room to fold the foil into a packet.
  • Squeeze the juice from half a lemon on one side of the filets, then do the same on the other side.
  • Drizzle oil to coat salmon filets on both sides.
  • Combine the spices in a small bowl and sprinkle liberally on both sides, then finish with a sprinkle of thyme over the tops.
  • Seal the foil packet on all sides, then put it on a baking tray and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the tray from the oven and unseal the packet, being careful to avoid burning yourself by the steam trapped inside.


Serving and Storage Tips
● Some of my favorite side dish pairings for this salmon are rice, broccoli, asparagus, and green beans. For a super easy meal, you can cook your veggies on the same baking tray as the salmon!
● Dried thyme works fine, but I love using fresh thyme sprigs in this recipe for the added flavor and aroma they bring.
● This recipe works great for prepping in batches. Baked salmon can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days or in the freezer for up to 2 months.
● Get creative with the leftovers! They can be tossed into pasta, on top of a salad, or formed into salmon patties.
